Slump. Bah.

My art brain has hit a super long jam, a perpetual slump. And I hate it. I want to draw, but I feel like there's nothing to draw. It's a rather common occurence, but I'm never used to it. And it's never lasted this long. It's usually for a week or so, so I wouldn't call it a slump. But time moves quickly for me, so it still feels forever.

Damn it. Insipire me, internetz.

Yeh.

Another great game for the PS, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver is one of the two games that rally got me hooked on video games. Raziel is an ultra cool mega badass, and I bet few dare to disagree with me. The controls were a bit off, but other than that, the game is one of the tops among the many masterpieces I seem to come across. I haven't every really played the game, not all the way through. But hey, that's what emulators are for, at least in my eyes.

And hey, aren't first impressions very important?

Conker This, Punk.

I went on an emulator downloading spree last week, but I quickly ran out of ideas. I mean, FF8 wouldn't occupy me forever, right? So I remembered something my friend mentioned. Conker's Bad Fur Day. When I first looked at it, it seemed too cutesy for me. But then I figured it was worth a shot. And that drunken money grubbing ultra-profane Tails knock-off captured my heart instantly. It was a thing of beauty, really.

Go play it.
Unless you are offended by blocky rats exploding from eating leaving cheese. Or by a cute cursing squirrel being crushed by a living chunk of evil metal.

Or, if you're cheap, and also don't want to TECHNICALLY break the law. Ahem.

Flashback: FFVIII?!?

Of all the video game intros, that has to be my favorite. Of all the video game weapons, the gunblade has to be my favorite. Of all the video game characters, Squall Leonhart has to be my favorite. And the only game with all three must be my favorite. And Final Fantasy VIII truely is. A classic game, and my introduction into the FF world. Or worlds. The only thing they tend to have in common is the system. They also seem to have at least one super cool character.

Fantastic plot, easy-ish battle system, interesting dialog, and an entire world are what this game offered the world. Not only that, but the game is so awesome, the entire story spans four discs. It may not have the continuity that its predecessor spawned, but it doesn't need to. Any continuation would destroy the perfect it has already obtained, which I'd truly hate to see.

And the best part, at least for me, was the fact that I got it for free. This time.

Hey, loving something doesn't mean I'll pay for it.
I'm always broke, remember?

Djinn Are For Fighting Monsters...

Golden Sun. I thought it looked like a cool game. And it is. It's a new game for the DS, which is based on a game for the GBA. Speaking of GBA, it's actually only been just over a year since I last played on one. Well, a physical one. I no longer have a DS, thanks to that satanic saboteur, paper. Yeah, a piece of paper broke my DS. Anyway, with out a DS, I couldn't play the new Golden Sun game. So I went back about ten years. Even though I no longer own a GBA, I DO own a GBA emulator. DS emulators don't play commercial ROMs.

Blahblahblah, long story short, I beat the GBA Golden Sun , and am working on the second one.

Okay, bye.

Weekend Speshul.

So I came across a pretty sweet video, and just felt like I had to share with the class. I've been a huge fan of Nerdcore since I came upon it one wonderful night. But there are always new things to discover. I was looking up "Braggadocio", a word which I was repeating for no reason. And I had a feeling I would figure out where I heard it by looking it up on Youtube. And I did. And, as always, I saw something under the related videos. It was an old G4 ad. But the interesting videos rarely stop at one.

The next one was this.

Enjoy it, in all it's nerdy beauty.

Make Me Money.

I'm getting an estimated total worth of the YuGiOh cards I have, which is so far over $100, and I'm not done yet. I can't wait to see how much it is in all. So, anyone interested in buying? Who needs to wait for a site to sell? Not me. Buy my stuff. Now.
Zeb commands it.

HIS NAME IS ROBERT PAULSON.

What is your favorite movie? Unless you say Fight Club, Donnie Darko, Shaun of the Dead, or Zombieland, your are no longer my friend, and  I'm going to have to turn my back on you now.

Those four are  the greatest movies ever, but the greatest of the great would have to be Fight Club. Truth be told, though, I suspect that MY Fantastic Four may become the Infallible Five. The new Tron movie has so much going for it, that it may in fact top the list. Daft Punk composed all the music, as well as make a cameo appearance. It is the sequel to a great movie, which is not a bad thing in this case, since the effects are aweful by today's standards. Oh, also, it has Olivia Wilde, who is the only reason I didn't completely hate Year One.

The one thing that could mess it up would be the lack of charm that made the original so wonderful. Of course, as long they add lots explosions, who cares about charm? ... There will be lots of explosions, won't there?

I demand explosions, Tron.

It's Time To Duel!11!ONE

A friend of mine is a serious collector of Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Like, super serious. He has several thousand cards. He wants to open up an online card shop. The dilemma? His total computer skills add up to about -100%. So he wants me to make a site for him. And I estimate that I'll get to making a homepage before the whole idea faceplants. Look forward to that.
I guess.

Bird, Plane, Superuser?

I rooted my Droid. Honestly, it was fairly pointless. The only real advantage I noticed was that I can now use Wireless Tethering, which is using my phone signal to set up a mobile Wi-Fi network. It's pretty cool, since my Droids USB is kinda messed up, and the lightest bump disconnects it.

Was it worth voiding my warranty? Yes.
Was it worth the possibility of destroying my Droid forever? Yeah, probably.

Linguisticalatoring?

A bunch of kids have tried to invent their own language, though few have succeeded. I always failed, but my language really just a picture cipher. So now I've tried to make my own language again, and it's actually going good so far. I kinda just drew a vertical line, and put some circles next to it. It's got like 40 characters, though. And that's not counting numbers and punctuation. The hard part is translating English into my Psuedo-Ancient language...
Suppose it's about time I opened up a dictionary?

Copper Ocelot?

A while ago, I "discovered" the formula for a band name. It's really simple, actually. It must have two words in the name. The first word is a metal, gem, color, or adverb. The second word is an animal.
So when I told my friend, he quickly came up with a few, one of which was Copper Ocelot. And I have to say, that name is awesome.

Rad.

Is There Anybody Out There? Just Nod If You Can Here Me...

Source: Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Good.

I suppose I'll be doing another music post. Pink Floyd is todays subject. I'm tempted to do some puns, to break the thin ice... That was aweful.

I think the first Pink Floyd song I heard was Brain Damage. I instantly fell in loved with them, and I actually recall buying The Wall, both the album and VHS. It was absolutely fantastic. Roger Waters is a genius, and one of my heroes. I look up to very fell people, so that is signifigant. Ich liebe them.

I suppose that this is goodbye, cruel world... that was painful, even to me...

Windmill, Windmill...

My night consisted of Gorillaz, Gorillaz, and Gorillaz. With a dash of Dragon Warrior Monsters 2. But mostly Gorillaz. I've always loved Feel Good Inc, but never really liked the band. But last night, out of boredom, I looked up a bunch of songs. And I loved them. I also loved the website. It entertained me for a few hours. Then I got bored.

I guess.

Monday, November 29, 2010

Wunderbar.

My break was alright. I downloaded VBA, like I always do. Dragon Warrior Monsters is a fantastic game. I even got the two sequels. They somehow topped the original. For a Pokemon clone, it's extremely well done.

By the way, my Thanksgiving dinner was a Pizza Lunchable. I can't stand homemade food, for some reason. I ate a few rolls at my uncles house. Then I ran out to the car and downed the pizza.

Delicious.

Kinda Like Limbo. Maybe.

I'm trying to find my niche in the blogosphere, so my posts are fairly lame. I obviously know that. So until I find it, my posts will remain as dull as a speck of dirt. Maybe they'll get more entertaining once I find it. Maybe.

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Ich Swore...

I have nothing to do. At all. I'm so bored. It's driving me insane. I desperately need to do something...

Monday, November 22, 2010

Wat?

I joined Mochi Games. Well, rejoined. I think I got a reward, but I can't see it. I really love flash games with scoreboards, and most of the games there have one. It's perfect. I've actually topped a few on there already.

How Rude.

Oh, yes, another Nitrome post. Go and complain elsewhere, readers. Well, future readers. Ich swöre, no one reads this.
Anyway, yeah. Nitrome made a new game, which I'm not even bothering to play. It's about a fat guy and a treadmill, or something like that.

Thursday, November 18, 2010

Ugh...

I think I'm sick. Nothing serious, just a cold or something. I've got the sniffles and I have a really sore throat. Man, I hate that. There's very little you can do with a sore throat, at least when you're broke...

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Great Success!

I'm finally getting a freakin' xbox 360. Probably for Christmas, but I can wait. I desperately want to play Fables 2 and 3, and I even considered preordering Fable 3, even though I was sure I wasn't going to get a 360 for a while. I fell in love with Fable instantly, but I did end up selling it for $10...

Oh, and that video from one of my past posts...

... Epic.

Funny Story...

Let me start out by saying that I hate going out on Sundays. I mean, I hate staying in on Sundays too But going out is even worse. I wish my body would let me sleep in...

Source: Spirited Away
Anyway, I actually wanted to go out yesterday. I was planning on going to a flea market. I was all ready, so I headed out to my car. We pulled off, and we couldn't have been driving for more than five minutes when the car jumped up. I looked back, and saw a big trail of oil behind us. I have to say, I was insanely pissed off. The one time I feel like going out, I get screwed over. And to think, I was so happy. One of my favorite movies, Spirited Away had come on earlier. The car thing really brought me down...

Last Man Standing?

Source: Nitrome
Nitrome has a new game out, Enemy 585. In it, you play as a moving box, while a little purple guy walks around like a moron. You need to help him maneuver around traps, since that cap apparently protects nothing but air. The story is apparently about a Mario-esque character that missed left one henchman alive. He should have known better.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Orly?

Didja miss me? I bet you did. I took a little break, mostly because I missed a few days of school, and had something else to do on the days I made it.

Source: Hanna is Not a Boys Name
I have good news. HiNaBN has finally made some new comics. It's been over a month since Tessa last released a new page, so you can imagine how estatic I was when I clicked onto the site last week.

Mrister Tibenoch, I love you.

Monday, November 1, 2010

Eh.

Source: Unknown

I'm gonna try something new. I'll try to make a game, using an AS library. It's something called Flixel. As of now, I've only just downloaded the programs required to use it. The advantage of Flixel is that it can create Flash games for free. Normally you'd have to use Adobe Flash Professional, but this uses coding and images made in another program.

It may be a little difficult, since, as I said, it mostly uses pure code. But I'll try anything once. Usually.

I SEE YOUR EUROBARGE MY FRIENDS...

Source: Comedy Central

I absolutely love Ugly Americans. I cannot get enough of it. But I'm almost afraid of it being cancelled, for some reason. Great humor, fluid animation, unique premise, and colorful characters are what makes for an amazing show, and this has all four. Oh, and not to mention the violence. Violence doesn't hurt it.

But I wish the theme song was Eurobarge by the Vandals.

FRENZY! BASARA!

Sengoku Basara 3, labled as Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes in English releases, is a hack-and-slash adventure game about feudal Japanese warriors fighting each other to unite Japan under one leader. Some fight for good, while, obviously, some fight for evil.
Most of the characters have epic, but impractical, weapons, including a giant anchor and a giant ball-and-chain attached to wooden handcuffs. I'm new to hack-and-slash, so I'm not to sure of how this ranks against others in the genre, but among all other games I've played, I'd say it ranks just below Final Fantasy 8.
There's a plethora of amazing unlockable characters, making the repetition of the game less of a hassle.

The only thing wrong, besides the repetitive courses, would be the noticably terrible lip syncing. But I think it gives it a nostalgic feel, reminding me of old kung-fu movies.

I give it a 9 out of 10, since the only real flaw is, once again, the repetition.

Again Nitrome?

Once again, they release a terrible game. When are the beauties I fell in love with?

Their new game, Sky Serpents is a game about flying snakes, in case that wasn't obvious. Also, you're a viking with a dagger and a sword, so it sounds awesome. But it's not. It's just not.

Monday, October 25, 2010

Change? I Hate Change.

I really do. Hate change, that is. But nevertheless, I've been trying a new technique in Photoshop. It's a small change, in the way I highlight things. But it's got a nice effect. And It's not hard, considering I figured out how to do it without looking it up. Once again, I'd show it off, but I can't get PB here.

I Require Cash

I needed some cash, so I tried to do commissions again. But no one wants to buy anything. Sure, I'm rusty, but I can still draw way better than you.
Photobucket
See?

Sleepy. Sleepier. Sleepierer.

I fell asleep at 2:40 AM last night. And I've been out of it all day. I think I'm worse off than I normally would be, considering I'm also sick. It's a terrible feeling, and I'm not sick enough to stay home.

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Wow, That Was Fast

On Sunday, I ordered the laptop from Amazon. And it came on Monday night. I've never had ANYTHING come that quickly, so I was surprised as hell. I've already started to draw some things, and I'd love to show them off, but I can't access Photobucket on the schools computer.

Monday, October 18, 2010

ALL GONE?!

Source:  Amazon.com
The laptop I wanted is no longer available. But I found another one, which is pretty good, too. Doesn't look that great, but it's way better than nothing. I'm finally getting a freakin' laptop. Again, I need to stress the fact the the Droid may be awesome, but using it as a PC is insanely impractical.

Friday, October 15, 2010

So. Slow.

The last three weeks have been going by slower than a snail pulling 10-ton weights. I think it's the lack of a computer that's doing that. At least with a computer, I'm seriously distracted, so time flys.

Thursday, October 14, 2010

Nitrome, I Hate You

Nitrome finally got some new games. And they suck. Terribly. I wish they'd release a good game again.
Temple Glider actually pissed me off, by the way.

I'll Need Another Controller

Oh, guess what. More Sunshine posts. I broke one of my controllers because of Mario Sunshine. I'm down to one. But I must say, the Gamecube controllers last longer than Playstation controllers. And a shard got some distance. I think it was about 20 feet away from the location where it shattered.

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

Yes, It's Another One

Source: Unknown
Yes, I'm posting about Super Mario Sunshine. Again. I beat my cousins game last night. And I have to say, I seriously hate the boating system in the game. I must have wasted 30 lives on that one section, so I'm lucky that there were two lives each time I played, before the evil boating part.

Also, I managed to cancel my order. I've never been so happy to have a processing delay in my life. You've redeemed yourself, Gamestop.

Thursday, October 7, 2010

Ragefase

I'm a little pissed at Gamestop. I tried to cancel my order, since I already almost finished my cousins game. But the system is apparently down. So now I'm wasting $23 for something I don't want.

Damn it Gamestop, you owe me money.

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

Liars

GameStop lied. The email they sent me said it would take less than 24 hours to confirm the order, but it's almost been 48 hours. I REQUIRE MY MARIO GAME. Like, right now.

Animu is My Friend

I've been watching Funimation On Demand a lot recently, mostly since my old favorite, Case Closed, is on there. But I'm expanded, and now I'm watching Claymore, Monster, Baccano, and a few others. And I figured I could check to see what was in the paid section, and I watched a free episode of an anime called Eden of the East. And I loved it. Surprisingly, I actually paid for all ten of the other episodes, and if they put the movies up, I'll pay for them, too.

Who am I? I don't pay for things...

IT'SA ME, MAAARIO

Source: Unknown
My cousin went out and bought Super Mario Sunshine last night. It was one of three Gamecube games I was gonna get, but I kinda forgot to order it before. So last night, I ordered it off of Game Stop. It IS a pretty sweet game, right?

And since I already got Twilight Princess, I'm down to Luigi's Mansion now.

Monday, October 4, 2010

QUESTION MARK.

There are a lot of offbeat things I want. Like a Unicycle. And a Banjo. And Lederhosen, a JTHM comic, a duct tape wallet, a pet monkey, and a lifetime supply of Monster and Jack Links Beef Jerky.

Does that make me weird?

I AM That Lazy

I want to see a movie. In the movie theater. I never want to. So I guess I should go before I get to lazy to even get up long enough to sit down in the movies...

But I have no idea of what I want to see... Any suggestions?

Oh, I Do Love A Good Holiday

Source: Unknown

I love Halloween, and October. I have a costume in mind already. In fact, it's almost completed. but I mostly love how Comedy Central plays Shaun of the Dead, my favorite "Horror" movie. It's my anual tradition to watch it.

Although, I'm sad that it's only going to play once. At least, that's what I hear...

Insert Clever Post Title

I need an xbox 360. I'm thinking about buying one just for Fable 2 and 3. But mostly Fable 3. I saw the intro movie on G4 On Demand, and fell in love with it. Someone buy me both the game and the system? Pretty, pretty please?

Ich Liebe Dich, Deutschland

I'm not too great at learning languages, but I've always wanted to be bilingual. I tried Spanish, but it was too much of a pain. Then I tried learning Japanese, but I'm too much of a nerd as it is. And, sadly, Pig Latin doesn't count. So now I'm trying a language that shares part of it's dictionary with my native language, English. Wish me luck, mein Freunds.

Does Not Compute

I desperately need a computer. As awesome as the Droid is, using it as a PC isn't working out too well. What about this one?

It's perfect, isn't it? Beautiful.

Global Thermonuclear War

Source: Unknown
I've kinda started to listen to The Thermals. Not really sure why I like them, since I usually don't listen to their type of music. But they don't have many songs I don't like. My favorite is probably "When I Died", or maybe "No Culture Icons".

Activate the Nitro-me

All of the sites I'm a regular on seem to be lacking updates. Nitrome, you need an update. And I want to know what this game is.

Source: Nitrome.com

Damn it Nitrome, don't keep me waiting. It's been so long since they've had a new one.

Droid Does.

I love my Droid. Greatest phone ever. It has Flash Player, can connect to a PC, has so many games, awesome toys, and more things I have yet to discover.

I really think that the only thing wrong with it is that you can't add new alert sounds for texts. Of the ones provided, the "DROID" alert is the best. But it's pretty freaky.

When I first got it, I never muted it. So when I went to sleep, it sometimes went off. Well, one night, I was in total darkness, and drifting off the sleep. Out of nowhere I heard "DROID" sound off, and I shot straight up and started freaking out. Luckily, I have no annoying roommates to film me freaking out.

Friday, September 17, 2010

Twilight Waker? Oh, Or Maybe Wind Princess.

I kinda want to get Legend of Zelda: The Skyward Sword. The graphics look pretty crappy, as would be expected when they described it as "a hybrid of graphics from Twilight Princess and The Wind Waker."

The graphics aren't so much the reason as the gameplay. I loved the swordplay in Wii Sports Resort, and apparently the swordplay in SS is based on the engine used in Sports Resort. And on top of that, I've always wanted to try shooting with a first-person view on te Wii. Just sounds so... Awesome.

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Spider-Cow, Spider-Cow...

I remember someone sent me a video a while back, and when I saw it, the only word I could use to describe it was "trippy". The video kinda speaks for itself, so go ahead and watch it.

I'm not the only one that's afraid of cows now, am I?

"FRIENDSHIP!"

Source: Unknown
Today, I'm thinking about web comics. Not sure why, exactly, but I am.

Anyone ever read HiNaBN? Or maybe VG Cats?
Okay, maybe not. But you must have seen Cyanide and Happiness. Everyone has seen at least one of them floating around. If you didn't, I don't like you. At all.

They are, much like the subject of my last two posts, extremely awesome, as over used as the word is. But Tessa and Scott need to update their comics. I hate waiting around for them.

Geez, I'm a sucker for offbeat characters.

Jhonen, You Genius, You

Okay, so I've got to think of something off of the top of my head. My last post was introductory, which is a habit of mine. So I've got to post something that's not just scattered thoughts. I'm not too great at that. But I suppose I'll have to try.

Source: Unknown
Yesterday, I mentioned Jhonen Vasquez, the creator of Invader Zim. Well, the reason I love him so much is not just because of Zim, although that's not a bad reason at all. No, Zim is just half of why I love him so. The other half is a comic of his, JTHM. The comic isn't exactly school appropriate, so I'm not going to really explain it. Look it up for yourself. Suffices to say that it is the epitome of epic.

Well, that's all I can think of.
So I'll be going now.

... Seriously, go away.

Monday, September 13, 2010

I Love You ZIM

Alright, so here's the deal. I'm in a multimedia class at school, and part of the class is blogging. I'm not too good at coming up with ideas, so I'll probably post what ever happens to be on my mind. And this happens to be on my mind right now:

I must say, I love Dilworth. He made one of the most awesome shows from my past, Courage the Cowardly Dog. Even so, Jhonen Vasquez is still my favorite animator. No one can deny how awesome Invader Zim is.

I love you Zim.
